0002: I Samuel Giles of Henley upon Thames in the County of
0003: Oxford Basketmaker and Turner being of Sound and
0004: disposing mind memory and understanding do make
0005: and ordain my last Will and Testament in manner
0006: following (that is to say) First I commend my Soul into
0007: the Hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body
0008: I commit to the Earth to be decently interred at the
0009: discretion of my Executors hereinafter named in the
0010: Burying place belonging to the people called Quakers
0011: in Henly aforesaid and I desire that the Expences of
0012: my Funeral may not exceed Ten pounds and as to such
0013: worldly Estate and Effects wherewith it hath pleased God
0014: to bless me I dispose thereof as follows First I Will and
0015: direct that all my just Debts and Funeral Expences shall
0016: be fully paid and satisfied and after payment thereof
0017: I give devise and bequeath unto John White of
0018: Christmas Common in the said County of Oxford Yeoman
0019: Nephew to my late Wife all that Messuage or Tenement
0020: with the Brick Kiln Garden outhouses and all other the
0021: Hereditaments and premises thereto belonging or [↑in] any-
0022: wise appertaining now in the Tenure or occupation of him
0023: the said John White or his Assigns situate at Christmas
0024: aforesaid in the parish of Watlington To hold the same
0025: and every part thereof unto and to the use of him the

0028: Bromell of Shiplake Mill in the parish of Shiplake
0029: in the said County of Oxford Miller all other my Freehold
0030: Messuages or Tenements Lands Hereditaments and
0031: premises whatsoever and wheresoever and of what
0032: nature or kind soever and all and every my Book
0033: debts -- Bonds Notes and Mortgages due and owing
0034: to me together with my Stock of Baskets Rods Goods in
0035: shop Household Goods plate Linen and all other my
0036: personal Estate and Effects of what nature or kind soever
0037: To hold the same and every part thereof unto the said
0038: John White and George Bromell their Heirs Executors
0039: Administrators and Assigns to for and upon the several
0040: Trusts intents and purposes hereinafter mentioned
0041: expressed and declared of and concerning the same (that
0042: is to say) In Trust that they my said Trustees or the
0043: Survivor of them or the Heirs Executors or Administrators
0044: of such Survivor do and shall as soon as conveniently
0045: may be after my decease have my said Trust Estates
0046: appraised And do and shall after such Appraisment sell
0047: and dispose of the same either by public or private
0048: Sale at or for the best price or prices that can be

0091: the Age of Twenty one Years and I do hereby Will and
0092: direct that in Case my said Estate and premises so devised
0093: to be sold should not be Sufficient to pay the full of the
0094: said several Legacies to the said several Legatees Then I
0095: will and direct that each of my said Legatees shall abate
0096: a proportionable part of their respective Legacies and in
0097: case my said Trust Estate and premises on such Sale should
0098: extend to more than sufficient to pay the above mentioned
0099: Legacies Then it is my Will and Meaning that the residue
0100: of the Money arising by such sale and unap[↑p]lied for the
0101: purposes aforesaid shall go to and be divided amongst
0102: them my said Legatees equally share and share alike and
0103: in case of the death of any or either of them my said
0104: Legatees before his her or their respective Legacies shall
0105: become due and payable Then I Will and direct that the
0106: share or shares of him her or them so dying shall go and be
0107: paid unto and amongst the Survivors and Survivor of
0108: them share and share alike And I do hereby order that for
0109: the more easy disposal of my said Estate that the Receipt
0110: of my said Trustees or the Survivor of them or the Heirs
0111: Executors or Administrators of such Survivor shall from
0112: time to time be a good discharge to the purchaser or
0113: purchasers thereof for the purchase Money and that such
0114: purchaser or purchasers shall not be answerable or accountable
0115: for any Misapplication or Nonapplication thereof And also
0116: that they my said Trustees or the Survivor of them or
0117: the Heirs Executors or Administrators of such Survivor
0118: shall not be Charged or chargable with or accountable
0119: the one of them for the other of them or for the Acts
0120: Receipts or payments the one of the other or for more of
0121: the aforesaid Monies and Estates than they shall respectively
0122: actually receive or shall come to his or their respective
0123: Hands by Virtue of this my Will nor with or for any loss
0124: which shall happen of the aforesaid Monies and Estates
0125: or any part thereof either at Interest or by placing
0126: the same in the Hands of any Banker or Bankers or
0127: otherwise so as such loss happen without their or either
0128: of their Wilful default and also that it shall and may be
0129: lawful to and for my said Executors and Trustees their
0130: Heirs Executors and Administrators in the first place by
0131: and out of the premises respectively to deduct and retain
0132: unto themselves respectively all such loss Costs Charges
0133: and expences as they or either of them shall sustain
0134: expend or be put unto for or by reason of the performance
0135: of this my Will or the trusts hereby in him or them
0136: reposed or the Management or Execution thereof
0137: respectively or any other thing in anywise relating
0138: thereto and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint
0139: them the said John White and George Bromell Executors
0140: of this my Will And lastly I do hereby revoke and make
0141: void all former and other Wills by me at any time
