Probate was granted to the widow of the testator, although the estate was left unadministered by her.  According to a marginal note, on 7th February 1825, the widow of the testator having died intestate, administration was granted to John Prince, the administrator of William Prince (deceased), cousin of the testator and one of the contingent residuary legatees named in the will.  George Prince and William Prince (the only children of the testator), William Prince and Elizabeth Prince (father and mother of the testator), Elizabeth Snow (sister of the testator), and William Prince (cousin of the testator named in the will) all died in the lifetime of Ann Prince, widow of the testator.
